Knowing vs. Feeling

I found this so helpul, as Alistair Begg seems to know how I often feel on a Sunday morning!

  1. Recent Facebook post from Bob Kauflin:
Thought for Sunday: Our greatest need when we gather is not simply to feel excited, but to encounter God: to engage with the certainty of his sovereignty, the reality of his authority, the comfort of his mercy in Christ, and the promise of his grace. http://www.worshipmatters.com/2015/06/16/how-exciting-should-our-sunday-meetings-be/

  2. So true. It is easy to get excited and then within minutes of going home feel deflated. In my experience, I'd rather be encouraged, chastised and comforted in the grace and mercy of God through the sacrifice of Christ than the former. It's taken me a while to get to this point and been a traumatic journey of questions. No doubt the questions will continue, but the sufficiency of the sacrifice of my Savior is the same yesterday today and tomorrow. I'm a free person in Christ and nothing , especially death and change that. FACT not FEELS are the things that count and will anchor the soul that rests on Jesus.
